It was a rainy Wednesday in the historic area of St. Augustine and after huddling beneath a shared umbrella for a couple of hours, my wife and I decided to stop at Scarlett O'Haras for a bite to eat and respite from the rain. Little did we know that there, in that eatery. on a wet Wednesday evening, we would be treated and entertained by the beautiful music of Amy Vickery. Alone in the corner with her guitar, she masterfully belted out requested tunes from the Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, Dave Matthews and many more. She ended the final set with her own original tune that felt in place with the rest of the songs she sang.
Amy Vickery grew up in the Mid West, and spent summers in North Florida where her family originated. She moved to Florida in 1997. She has been making music for over 25 years, and performing professionally as a solo artist in North East Florida since 1999. Taking the Americana & Indie-folk rock sound and applying it to her style of acoustic covers, she performs many top hits from the past and present, as well as original music. Some bands that have influenced and continue to inspire her include Dave Matthews Band, U2, K.T. Tunstall, Amos Lee, John Mayer, Jack White, and many more. She performs regularly in North East Florida as a solo artist, as a Duo with Paul Rubin, and as a trio with Paul Rubin & Stu Weaver.
